Poikiloderma is a skin condition that consists of areas of hyperpigmentation (increased color), telangiectasia (dilated visible surface blood vessels) and atrophy (thinning of the skin, often with a “chicken skin” appearance. Poikiloderma of Civatte is most frequently seen on the chest and/or the sides of the neck, characterized by red and/or tan color with some texture changes of the skin as well, and is commonly associated with chronic sun exposure.
